The long rumoured Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster was spotted on a Portuguese retail website earlier today. The listing has since been taken down. That's it. That's the story.
Does it mean anything? Who knows. But certain insiders swear that this remaster is real, and that a release was initially planned for October. However, with the world the way it is, there's no way to know if that's still the case.
If you couldn't already tell, we're sick of writing about this bloody remaster. Please EA, just put us out of our misery and announce the damn thing.

Listing been removed now
They are busy photoshoping Bioware's name out. Their record isn't shining as of late and I wonder what crazy bugs they would hide in a remaster, if it comes out of its rumour state that is.
As long as Steam owners get a free upgrade on release, we're good.
Coming out the same day as Deep Down!
Played 1 and 2 multiple times. Played 3 once, then replayed the final few hours when they added the extended ending. Played all the dlc for every game. Currently have a backlog of games, and loads of new games coming in the next few months. Will still buy this remaster, and will play the trilogy again.
Love that pic lol
Been wishing for this for years but rumours have always been just that. At this point I'll just expect it to release alongside Dragon's Dogma and Splinter Cell sequels.
I would love to play this on a brand new shiny PS5!!
@Broosh if it’s just a remaster and not a remake I’d imagine whatever this is is probably just however it already runs on PC, but on console
Also please for the love of god revamp the combat in ME 1 to be like 2 and 3. I tried going back to finally play that game and couldn’t get through more than 15 minutes
@Ha1frican You're probably right, if anything I'm just hoping for some slight tunings to the first game to touch up combat.
Mass Effect 1 on PS3 is the most recent game I’ve platinum’d. Had to beat it 4 times because I messed up on one of the runs. I know that game like the back of my hand now. I’ll be curious to see how much of an effort is put into this remaster.
It's from gamingreplay, they usually do these for pre-orders, even for games with no release dates (ex Tales of Arise). Never seen them do one based on a rumour though.
I AM THE VANGUARD OF YOUR DESTRUCTION!
They gotta remaster Dead Space. Remaster Dead Space pleeeaaasse
@Ha1frican lol yeah it feels archaic now. Probably even then..
I can just see it being a remaster so close too ps5 release hope its backwards compatible
I'd love to see it timed with an announcement for the return of key people behind original trilogy and they're working on Andromeda 2. I known Andromeda was a let down in many ways but with the right lead developers a sequel could make up for it.
@DeepSpace5D What were you trying to do in the run you had to scrub, if you dont mind my asking?
@Genejoke I think andromeda has caused too much damage, We already had all 3 games of the trilogy within 5 years last gen, but we barely even managed to get that one game this time around and it was such a let down. I hope there's another 2 or 3 on the horizon because I really love the series, but it's looking pretty bleak.
@Nepp67 Dead Space Trilogy would be awesome, especially if they take the time to bring over the two spinoff games and all DLC, including the Dead Space 3 Endgame DLC.
@jbreez00
Sure, so perhaps saying I “messed up” one of the runs wasn’t the totally correct way of describing it.
But basically I chose an Engineer for my first class on normal difficulty and I quickly found that it didn’t suit my play style. You can be tricky with that class with all their tech, but offensively I felt it to be lacking and it felt like I was taking more of a backseat during the fighting and mainly assisting my squad members who did most of the killing.
I realized about halfway through the first run that I didn’t want to continue this class for a hardcore and Insanity playthrough, so I wrapped up that run, got the tech-specific trophies as well as 75% paragon and taking more shield damage than health throughout the run.
I did a little research online and decided to go with Infiltrator class with a pistol/sniper setup to go through insanity.
Long story short, I started a Hardcore run right away on my new character and it felt a bit tough with no good armor or weapon, so I decided to do a quick easy run again to get fully stocked up for Hardcore and Insanity, just doing what I needed to unlock the Spectre gear and getting a few miscellaneous trophies.
Definitely not the fastest way to platinum, but in the end I got it done haha.
@DeepSpace5D Ah I know what you mean, I had almost the exact same experience with engineer and I tried to play it for all 3 games thinking that time would be the time I saw it through.
